The Job Centre is located in Y Block at the front of the school and assists students to find Work Experience, school based apprenticeships and traineeships and part-time jobs. Information on the different types of placement are below.
We also run courses at reduced prices in conjunction with external providers, eg, the Responsible Service of Alcohol with CRC Currumbin RSL College.
We are open every day at 12 noon. Students need to come to the Job Centre, complete a registration form and bring a resume to commence the placement process. If students do not have a resume we can help them to complete this. Even if a student has not had a previous job, completion of a Resume can give the employer a sense of who the student is, eg, where they live, what subject areas they are interested in, volunteer work, sports and hobbies.
To register for upcoming courses, students come to the Job Centre and place their name on the relevant registration form on the Job Board.
The Job Centre has a small computer room for students to use in completing resumes, job searching and job applications. We also advertise all opportunities on our Job Boards in the Centre, in the Daily Notices, the School Newsletter, and School Website.
Students and parents welcome in Job Centre to look at jobs and information on noticeboards. We have some computers available for students to use for job search and resume writing etc.
